Zeven albums staan er al op de teller. Niet slecht voor een laatbloeier. Ook al zingt hij van z’n 5de… Het is wachten tot 2008 voor hij een eerste keer in de Vlaamse Top 10 staat met “Littekens”. Maar de echte doorbraak komt er in 2012 met een liedje van de Volendamse groep BZN “Yo te amo”.
Vanaf dan gaat het heel snel voor Herbert. Een bloeiende fanclub, en heel wat nummers die pieken in de Vlaamse hitlijsten… sommige op één (“Een ongewone reis”, “Dans met mij”, “Even alleen”).
Bijna alle teksten schrijft Herbert zelf. Ook andere artiesten doen graag een beroep op z’n vlotte pen.
Privé woont Herbert in Kuurne, met z’n echtgenote Elke. Samen hebben ze 3 kinderen: Laura, Robin en Anne.
Herbert is al 20 jaar presentator bij Radio 2, en 10 jaar presentator bij Ment-TV. Daar heeft hij z’n eigen talkshow “Herbert” op zondag. Samen met Lindsay presenteert hij er De Vlaamse Top 10.
Al een tijd werkt hij meer dan 200 optredens per jaar af. Daarmee zit z’n carrière op kruissnelheid. Van het kleinste privé-feest, tot de grote festivals… het entertainen zit in z’n bloed.
